Give the compliment

The other day I was at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo with a friend. We walked under the big tree over by the farm, which I learned last year was the favorite tree for the peacocks. While walking under said tree I felt a splat, looked down and I had gotten pooped on by a peacock!

Trying to clean myself up with baby wipes was not helpful, my friend suggested I just go buy a new shirt from the zoo gift shop. Figures, the one day I decide to try to be "good" and not ride everything and pack my lunch to avoid spending money I end up with a new $20 shirt, and that was even on clearance!

I get the shirt on and it's WAYYY tight, but it was either that or my poop shirt. So I decided to just deal and enjoy the rest of my day, which I did! Lots of animals that we normally don't see were actually out and active that day it was really nice.

We went to eat lunch and I noticed a mom there with her 2 kids, one in a baby carrier which I spotted right away of course because baby wearing is so dear to my heart! Then I notice her breastfeeding in the carrier also, something else near and dear to my heart; and something I never really got the hang of with my own son.

Alot of the time when I see people doing awesome things in public my shyness gets the best of me and I don't say anything, but I decided to be brave that day and told that mama she rocked for not only breastfeeding, but doing it in public while wearing! I'm so thankful I complimented her because her smile made my day!

Later we were playing in the water area at the zoo and I ran into another friend, and she told me how cute I looked that day! Really? Me? in my too tight shirt and goofy hair that I'm trying to grow back out again, no makeup, sweaty mess trying to keep an eye on my kid. I told her later thank you again for the compliment, and the entire story about the peacock poop that she had no idea had happened, just a simple "you look cute today" made that whole fiasco fade from my mind!

Point is, you have no idea what your words could do for a person's day! Smile, say thank you, if you see someone doing something awesome tell them! Tell your friends and family you love them and that they look cute today.
